BEd in Home Economics Education

The BEd in Home Economics Education at UBC Vancouver prepares future educators to teach Foods, Textiles, and Applied Design, Skills, and Technologies (ADST) in secondary schools. The program integrates curriculum, pedagogy, and hands-on design practice, emphasizing critical thinking, sustainability, food literacy, well-being, and creative problem-solving.

Through coursework and practicum experiences, teacher candidates develop the skills to design inclusive, inquiry-driven learning environments that connect everyday life skills with broader social, cultural, and global contexts.
